Ovation Academy of Music

Spencer is a guitarist and session musician from Minneapolis Minnesota, and has been playing professionally since age 15. He earned his bachelor’s in guitar performance from McNally Smith College of Music, where he studied with world renowned blues guitarist and educator Greg Koch. Since 2015 Spencer has been a top call guitarist in Minneapolis and the Midwest, and can be seen with artists like Billy Steele (Sounds of Blackness) and Kirk Johnson (Prince).

Spencer’s teaching style represents a balance of formality and fun, with an emphasis on real world preparation. He understands that guitar is a very culturally complex instrument,  and is able teach the basics through any genre. You will be commanding your favorite songs or techniques in no time with his engaging and stylistic approach to teaching.
